"This Chelsea's dreadful season is making me into a better manager" Says Jose Mourinho!!!

Jose Mourinho claims coping with the worst season of his career is making him a 'stronger' manager while maintaining the faith that he will not be sacked if Chelsea exit the Champions League.

The Portuguese coach has already seen his side's Barclays Premier League title defence fall apart and things could get worse if they are beaten by Porto on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge.

A defeat would almost-certainly send Chelsea into the Europa League but under-fire Mourinho says the new experience of adversity is upping his motivation to a level that even he did not expect.

Mourinho knows his side must get at least a draw against Porto to ensure progress in the Champions League.

The Portuguese coach's confidence in himself has not waned with the poor run of results this season.
'As a manager I think makes me better, because it’s the first time for me,' he said. 'It’s a new experience, something I was not used to.

'I never thought I would be so strong and so highly motivated to another defeat and the next morning I wake up again with even more desire to go and work. So it made me know myself a little bit better than before.

'I found myself stronger than I thought because when you win all the time it’s a wonderful life. When you have bad results it’s more difficult and I found myself really strong and it's a good experience.'

The poor run of results seems to have done little to dent the Portuguese manager's well-known confidence.

'I think that I did lots of good things in this club for the owner to know the quality I have,' he said.

'If the owner show me that belief twice: one, when brought me back to the club, second time, when he gave me a new contract, I don’t think the owner is a person to change with the wind.

'I know the wind of the results is an important wind, I know that this wind is really strong because the results in the Premier League are really bad but I think the owner knows who I am, what I gave to the club and the owner believes that I am the right person to do the job.

He added: 'You can read these bad results and focus everything in the manager, you can look at the results and look to players with performances below acceptable.

You can look to this and look to the unlucky decisions that we are having in every competition, you can look in many directions and you can decide that this is not a one-man responsibility. But that’s just my point of view.'
