Don't be afraid of sweats anymore:Personal trainer - who ruined two phones during strenuous exercise - invents underwear with waterproof pockets for your iPhone.
Hot jocks: Sydney personal trainer Matt Chapman has invented PocJox - underwear with sweat-resistant pockets to hold your phone.
Having his phone slip down the side of his sweaty jocks during a workout just wasn't cutting it for Matt Chapman. The Sydney personal trainer had broken two phones from his own sweat, and found carrying his phone instead frustrating and annoying. Fed up with the outdated accessories currently available, Mr Chapman came up with a solution that is both practical and sweat free: jocks with a waterproof pocket for your phone.
A niche market: The innovative design came from Mr Chapman's own observations as a trainer.
'I came up with the idea about two years ago from my observations as a personal trainer and through my own training,' Mr Chapman told Daily Mail Australia.
'My phone kept falling out of my pocket, and I personally ruined two phones with sweat by sticking the phone down the side of my pants on my hip. 'I kept getting annoyed and frustrated, the arm bands [to hold a phone] are sort of outdated and not functional to train at the gym.'
Smart thinking: The design has two pockets lined with a waterproof membrane - one to hold a phone and a second to hold a credit card, keys or cash.
Working up a sweat: Mr Chapman used to slip his phone down the side of his pants, and ruined two phones from sweat alone.
Different designs: PocJox come in shorts (left) and tights (right) with a women's range to be released next year.
The innovative design, called PocJox, combines traditional men's jocks with sweat-resistant pockets that can hold a phone, credit card or keys.
The pocket is lined with a waterproof membrane that stops any sweat from damaging the phone.
Mr Chapman, who recently became a father, threw himself behind the design and even sold his house to fund the project.
Product launch: The dedicated trainer sold his house to fund the project, and said it was a 'very big achievement' in his life.
The dedicated trainer held a launch event in Sydney's Potts Point last week.
'It's a very big achievement in my life, and I'm very proud of it,' he said.
PocJox have been on sale for less than a week and are currently only available online, but Mr Chapman said he hoped to break in to the retail sector. Next year he plans to release a line of PocJox for women.
