A video of a machine that gently cracks open and separates eggs has been described as 'mesmerising' and 'oddly satisfying' to watch. Scroll down for video.

The RZ-1, otherwise known as the 'one row egg breaker machine', carefully breaks open the egg shells before separating the whites from the yolk in one fluid movement.

The machine is so efficient it can handle 120 eggs at once, and in just one hour can separate 1,800 yolks.

A video that shows the machine in action has been viewed more than 858,000 times on YouTube.

Eggs are first placed on to the top holding tray before dropping down one at a time in to a special, egg-shaped holder.

Inside the machine, which is manufactured by Polish company Ovo-Tech, the egg shell is gently broken open and flared with a knife, before the whole egg slips out the other side.

The egg then continues down a metal gutter and any broken yolks are removed from the mix.

To separate the eggs whites from the yolk, the whole egg is dropped on to a distributor that holds the yolk intact while the white slips away.

The separated eggs whites and yolks are then distributed in to buckets beneath the machine.

The egg-cracking speed of the RZ-1 can be slowed down or increased, and the strength at which the knives break the shells can also be adjusted depending on the weakness of the shells.

The video attracted a number of comments on YouTube with one person describing the machine as 'oddly satisfying'.
