The new Calendar Girls: It's too cold in here to freeze and these ladies are still posing for pictures!!!!!!
A university sports team has taken inspiration from Calendar Girls and posed naked in the freezing cold with only netballs to cover their dignity. This picture of a university netball team represents the month of January in a new charity calendar.
The 16 students from the University of Birmingham team left their sportswear in the locker room for a new 2016 calendar intended to raise money for both breast cancer charity Coppafeel! and their club.
The black-and-white photos show the women in a range of poses - including lined up in a sports hall wearing just black pants and trainers, while covering their chests with netballs.
In another image, the women are pictured from behind as they line up on a bridge with their arms around each other, again just wearing black underwear.
They are also pictured working out in a sports hall, doing a variety of exercises, and relaxing in the bar holding strategically placed drinks.
'We thought it'd be a great collaboration, Coppafeel! are very active on campus so a lot of students have heard about them,' second year student and calendar organiser Liv Stables told student newspaper The Tab.
'Despite the freezing cold and the enormous amount of nip-ons, it was really good fun and the money we raise for our club and a fantastic cause will definitely be worth it.
Passersby were surprised to see the 16 students posing semi-naked on campus in the freezing cold.
Quite a stretch: Birmingham calendar girls limber up for December's photograph
'It's a great merger because it's such an awful illness that affects so many women.'
Second year History and Politics student Lauren Wood, who is in charge of fundraising and sponsorship for the Netball Club, explained how the idea for a 'tasteful nude calendar' took form.
'We thought it would be a fun and alternative way to raise funds for our club instead of relying solely on the membership fees,' she said.
'We felt as a female-based sport our collaboration with the Coppafeel charity was really appropriate - especially with our fundraising method.'
The netball team don't seem to mind the wintry temperatures as they pose for February.
The calendar will make a lovely addition to bleak student halls and may even help students get a little more organised.
Coppafeel is a UK charity encouraging all to 'get to know your boobs and check them regularly making late detection and misdiagnosis a rarity.'
The naked calendar will go on sale for £8 each from November 30, with £2 going to CoppaFeel!.
