Manscaping season is upon us with men expected shave their underarm hairs before they expose their bodies to the summer sun.
New research by Gillette has revealed what really goes on behind bathroom doors - and that more than a third of men prefer baby smooth underarms.

Buzz the fuzz: 35 per cent of Australian men admitted to shaving under their arms

Rather worryingly, more than a third of Aussie men use the same razor to shave their face as they do their groin, with eight per cent willing to nick their roommates razor to get the job done.

Almost half, or 43 per cent, said they had shaved their groin in the past 12 months, and their reason for doing so extended beyond wearing Speedos at the beach.

More than 40 per cent of men admitted they shaved prior to getting intimate with another person, and more than 20 per cent shaved before they hit the gym or exercised.

Manscaping habits proved to extend beyond the belt, as men addressed their underarm and leg hair.
More than a third of men admitted to shaving their underarms, while 29 per cent said they had shaved their legs in the past.

But the quest for the perfect summer body did not always go to plan with razor nicks and clogged razors known to slow down the process.

Chest hair has long been the topic of debate as men choose between a rugged and natural look or smooth finish.

Nearly 50 per cent of men said they chose to shave their chest hair as they believed they looked better without it and found it more hygienic.

A further 39 per cent found a hair-free body boosted their confidence.

But girlfriends be warned, 20 per cent of men admitted they used their partner's razor on their body.
